These staggeringly beautiful images are part of the Daily Overview project. Their name is derived from what is known as the Overview Effect, a common sensation felt between astronauts who gain a deeper connection and appreciation of Earth’s beauty and fragility when looking at it from above.

These images are truly wondrous to look at, but their mission is more than just providing aesthetically pleasing photography. Through these aerial images (called Overviews) they hope to create a similar sensation in the viewer which in turn will help us to develop a deeper understanding of our species and the impact we are having on the planet.
